TRANSPONDER INFORMATION:

  • Information about transponder purchase or rental can be found at www.mxtransponder.com. Please visit this site to learn about which transponders will and will not work with the Regional Qualifier scoring system.

  • Transponders can be rented at the track upon arrival.

RACE DETAILS:

• All racing will be on the Pro Track
• All classes run three motos
• All three motos count towards overall finish
• Top 7 overall from each class advance to the National at Loretta Lynn’s
• All first motos, qualifiers, and consis and some second motos finish on Saturday
• All third motos run on Sunday

If there are more than 41 racers per class, then qualifiers will be run. The results of the Qualifiers and the Consi will count as the Moto 1 finish in that class. The number of positions to advance from the Qualifiers to Moto 2 will be set; the remainder will transfer to a Consi. The finishers of each Qualifier will then receive their corresponding score for Moto 1. Thus, there will be two 1st place finisher, two 2nd, two 3rd, and so on, for Moto 1. The winner of the Consi will get a score of one more than the last rider transferring from the Qualifier. The Qualifier with the fastest time will receive priority gate pick for Moto 2.

ALTERNATE PROCEDURE:

We will accept alternates for any class not pre-entered to 41 riders. If a class pre-enters with over 41 riders, we will accept alternates to 82 riders. We will not accept alternates to make any class over 41 riders that does not come already pre-registered over that number.

  1. All alternates must attend rider registration and register in each class in which the rider is an alternate.

  2. Alternates may participate in practice on Friday and Saturday mornings.

  3. Alternates who did not pre-enter may post-enter at the event by completing the post-entry form and paying the applicable mxsports fee(s) and entry fee(s).

  4. Alternates will be placed based upon a power-ranking calculated by the number of riders at the qualifier level, i.e., alternates from qualifiers with the most riders will be given priority placement. In other words, a withdrawn rider will not necessarily be replaced by an alternate from the same qualifier as the withdrawn rider.

  5. Alternates will not be placed until after the close of registration on Saturday. At that time, all no-shows will be deleted from the program and Alternates placed.

  6. Once a class is full, no further Alternates can be placed unless a seeded rider withdraws from the program prior to the start of the first moto of that class. This means that even if a gate is empty on the starting line of the first moto, we still cannot place an Alternate in that position. Once a rider earns a gate position, it cannot be given to an Alternate without the rider’s consent, even if the rider fails to race the first moto. A rider may in fact miss the first moto but race the 2nd and 3rd motos. After the first moto of a class is run, no Alternates can be placed in that class.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

  1. All riders and 1 parent (if the rider is under 18 years) must attend registration. The AMA Competition Membership card does NOT change the necessity for a parent of a minor racer to attend the event and registration. If a parent cannot be in attendance, then a dated, signed, and notarized permission slip is absolutely required. The permission slip should look like the one appearing below:

    (Date)
I hereby give permission for my (son/daughter), (child’s full name) to race in the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Regional MX at Unadilla Motocross, New Berlin, NY  on June 18-20, 2010. (Name) will be responsible for (him/her) during the event.

    Signed_________________________________

    Notarized signature and seal

A notary public can be found at your local bank, schools, government offices, and many places of business. The permission slip MUST be notarized. Brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, etc. cannot take the place of a parent without the above notarized permission slip.

  2. All riders, including minors, must go to the Registration area. You will need your transponder number and last first digits of your bike frame number. At the Registration Area you will:

    • Get transponder, if needed

    • Enter your classes

    • Sign up for optional Friday practice

    • Pay your entry fee

    • Sign your entry and insurance release(s)

    • Obtain practice stickers

    • Obtain Pit vehicle permit

ALL MINORS SHOULD BE SURE A PARENT COMES TO REGISTRATION WITH THEM.

REGISTRATION NOTES:

If a rider is in 2 classes and the practice sessions for those classes are run together, or the rider is in back-to-back practice sessions, he may request to practice with a different group for his second class. Otherwise, riders may not practice with classes in which they are not qualified.

Practice will run as follows:

Friday: 10-4 pm
Saturday: 8:30 am
Sunday: 8:00 am

Riders can enter a total of 4 classes at the Regional. However, a rider is limited to only 2 classes at the National. Thus, if a rider qualifies in more than 2 classes, he will have to declare which 2 classes he will compete in at the National.
